Calvin Hoover called 911 to report stolen marijuana
Published by onlines on November 10, 2009
A 21-year-old Salem, Oregon man was arrested after he called 911 to report that someone had stolen his marijuana.
A drunken Calvin Hoover called 911 around 12:52 a.m. last Tuesday from the Free Loader Tavern to report that someone had broken into his truck and stole his Carhartt jacket, $400 in cash and less than an ounce of marijuana.
When sheriff’s deputies arrived at the tavern, Hoover was nowhere to be found.
About an hour later, Hoover called 911, again, while driving to complain that the police were not working hard enough to recover his stolen stuff.
This time, the dispatcher had trouble understanding Hoover, who had to stop several times to vomit while he was speaking to the dispatcher.
Authorities later found Hoover walking about 100 feet from his vehicle and which point he told police he was looking for the people who stole his “weed.”
He was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Authorities said that Hoover does not have a medical marijuana card.
