Suitcase girl ‘killed on date’

Published by admin on September 30, 2009

A WOMAN whose body was found in a suitcase was murdered after going on an internet date, it was revealed yesterday.
Leah Questin, 37, was last seen alive on September 12.

She was on a bus going to see a man she met through ad website Gumtree. Her remains were found at a dried-up pond near Rochester, Kent, last Thursday.

A 35-year-old IT professional was last night under arrest over 4ft 11in Leah’s murder.

He is understood to have admitted seeing Filipina Leah on September 12 – but insists the care worker, of Dollis Hill, North-West London, was alive when they said goodbye.

Leah took the Tube from nearby Kilburn to Elephant And Castle, South London – where CCTV shows she boarded a No172 bus.

It was not clear where she was heading, but cops said she may have been killed at Lewisham – where the suspect is from.

Met DCI Peter Lansdown said: “We need to understand where she went, who she was meeting and how she came to be murdered.” Police are liaising with website Gumtree to establish who placed the ad which led to Leah’s date. [ source: thesun ]
